what is the endocannabinoid system

there's a reason mammals survived millions of years without modern healthcare

While the topic is so vast and complex its a bit much to sum up in a quick article, we can break down what's important to you.

"The ECS comprises a vast network of chemical signals and cellular receptors that are densely packed throughout our brains and bodies. The "cannabinoid" receptors in the brain — the CB1 receptors — outnumber many of the other receptor types on the brain. They act like traffic cops to control the levels and activity of most of the other neurotransmitters. This is how they regulate things: by immediate feedback, turning up or down the activity of whichever system needs to be adjusted, whether that is hunger, temperature, or alertness."

Peter Grinspoon, MD

Our own bodies produce endocannabinoids, and as Dr. Grinspoon explains, "all of us have millions of Cannabinoids floating around our brains" and that humans' relationship with the cannabis plant apparently began at least 5000 years ago, has worked to supplement our lack of agrarian cannabinoid sources by fueling these systems with naturally occurring plant compounds, also cannabinoids.

So how can the endocannabinoid system help you? Well, most things systemic can be improved, that can include everything from inflammation and pain reduction to sleep and hunger regulation, energy levels, even things more systemically impactful like blood health, cellular health, brain chemistry, PTSD symptom recurrence, the list really goes on and on and on and on......

Not sure what Cannabinoids help you the best? Well, symptom relief is a good start? How is you sleep? Your physical or emotional pain levels? Attitude? How is your health? Inflammation levels? Stress levels? Ability to recover? These questions will help guide you.
