cannabis edibles safety in the crosshairs

from acute liver toxicity to CHS, consumer safety is getting a hard look. #cannabismedicines #consumersafety

"I've now seen several patients with acute liver toxicity from a particular brand of cannabis edibles that put inappropriate additives in their products, in particular Corydalis. In the mad rush to differentiate their products many companies are creating problems that harm patients and reflect poorly on the industry"

Jordan Tishler, MD

Acute Liver failure, Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome and even an unexpected four day high- all recent reported results of virtually unregulated cannabis industry products.

Additives such as Vitamin E, utilized to improve delivery, can also have harmful effects such as a propensity to cause bleeding. Under the pressures of a saturated market, investor demands and impending bankruptcies, many cannabis companies have reached to new processing methods or additives to increase sales, without sufficient knowledge or due diligence on consumer safety.

Two common additional causes of toxic cannabis edible meds are pesticides and heavy metals. In large scale growing, where failed crops are not an option, pesticide use is mandatory. While levels may be "acceptable" for some regulators in single flowers smoked, when concentrated into edibles and then consumed daily, the toxic intake levels can become very serious.

What is Azamax Poisoning?

There is growing suspicion that many Cannabis Hypermesis Syndrome Cases, may actually be Azamax pesticide poisoning or an allergic reaction to continual exposure. CHS is thought to be the eventual allergic reaction to isolated and unnatural cannabinoids, typically ingested daily, such as THC9 or Delta8 isolate. Azamax is a too commonly used pesticide, which some do avoid use of in flower, but is suspected to accumulate in soil, and in plants- and thereby end up in a concentrated form in common edibles. Enough exposure to this and the body reacts or is harmed.

Cannabis also absorbs toxins in soil exceptionally well, which is good for soil remediation, but not for consumer safety. Unfortunately this is completely unregulated in Recreational, Medicinal and CBD markets. Absorbed toxins can include pesticides from past agricultural use, or heavy metals.

Large scale hemp production for CBD is particularly subject to this, in that many hemp plants, which absorbed toxins from many acres of soil, are used to make much less CBD concentrate. In effect concentrating heavy metals or pesticides potentially hundreds of times into a gummy or tincture.

What Made RCM Co. formulas different?

SKMS' early history with numerous pediatric seizure patients referred by Dr. Sulak shaped SKMS capsules and chocolates formulas ingredient selection and processing techniques, not just to insure product and ingredient safety, but to also insure prevention of any possibility of toxin contamination.

Nepali Growing in SKMS Living Soil

The SKMS kitchen contains bottled bleach in a closet, and no other toxic ingredients. SKMS plants are grown in living soil which has never seen pesticides and been in constant use for almost a decade now. Plants are fed certified clean water, additionally run through carbon filters.

SKMS capsules only contain wholeplant cannabinoids, organic unrefined coconut oil, organic sunflower seed powder and plant material. SKMS chocolate meds only contain Ghirardelli Chocolate, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Sunflower Seed powder and wholeplant Cannabinoids.

Simplicity of medication ingredients insures both safety and limiting the likelihood of a super sensitive seizure prone child from having another one. Even stress, strange tastes or smells, can prompt seizures in some.

Many SKMS clients have been consuming consistent and significant daily doses of SKMS capsules or chocolates, every day for many years, with continual health improvement. Many people suffering from CHS have come to SKMS for safer meds and seen relief from their symptoms.

SKMS and RealCannabisMedicineCo. Staff encourage consumers to ask where their products ingredients come from and how they are made. It is in the best interest of consumer safety and the health of the Medicinal Cannabis Industry itself!
